These approx. 18 months were our youthful K9 "Hey Days"as young 18/19 year olds away from home and on our own were we intertwined  with a bunch of guys that we will never forget: working many a night in the rain, cold winters, hot summers, and typhoons , drinking, and chasing the bar girls in Angeles City - Manila while establishing  our friendships or dislikes for each other. However, what ever dislikes we may have had at that time, hopefully time has healed the wounds so that we may now share the memories: Good times - Bad times - Happy or Sad, feeling free to laugh or shed some tears - but always the "Memories".  We "Walked the Walk and Talked the Talk" to the Ramp Rats or LE troops thus ensuring that we would always be under constant scrutiny of the "head shed wiennies" and other squadron supervisory personnel.

Wall Locker - Was it a Playboy Magazine??? - Cant remember!!!!!

We walked the same washouts, housing areas, perimeter and special posts avoiding the snakes and hoping  the big hope: "Getting our dog a BITE"

We had our barracks parties: from drinking and throwing bedding off third floor balcony, shaving cream fights to playing baseball with beer bottles for balls and steel bed post adapters for bats.

We had our "sick dogs" ( always last duty day of swing shift) that required the CQ to obtain ice from dining hall in order to ice the dog down (beer in garbage cans - civilian handler shack) . After "treatment of the dog" was over in the morning, all would change clothes and head for Manila on break if you were lucky enough to get your Base Pass.

Who can ever forget riding that "Rapid Rabbit Bus".

As Base Pass's were kept and issued by the NCOIC of the kennels, we also had our days of "Extra Duty" at the kennels while on break. Policing the grounds and cleaning kennels always seemed the favorites. Some even got lucky enough to have to "bury the cigarette" if caught not field stripping the butt.

It is hoped that others from this period are located and their photographs are added to these pages.
